FAQs

  • It very much depends on the time of year and the commission type, but I’ll always let you know in the early stages of the process when you can expect to receive your commission. Once started, an embroidery will take up to 14 days, a pencil drawing between 3-12 days, and a watercolour painting 3-5 days.

  • Please see my Pricing page for info.

  • Once I’ve received your email, I’ll take a look at the info you’ve given me and see if it’s something I’m able to do. If it is, I’ll email you to let you know approximately when it’ll be done by, and ask for any additional info I may need. Once we’re both happy, I’ll send you a 20% invoice to secure your slot, along with a Photoshop mock-up of your commission (if necessary). 1 week prior to our agreed slot, I’ll email you with the final 80% invoice. Once you’ve paid this, I can begin!

  • If you’re in the U.K., a bank transfer is preferred. If you’re overseas, I accept PayPal, but please bear in mind I will add a 5.5% fee in line with PayPal’s fees to both of your invoices. I ask for 20% payment to secure your slot, then 80% when I’m ready to begin, but I am happy to discuss other payment arrangements if necessary!

The 20% deposit is non-refundable, but if you’re unable to pay the 80% payment 1 week before our agreed start time, you may postpone the project up to 6 months, depending on my availability.

  • Absolutely! Provided the photos of each person are good quality, I can usually splice them together. It’s great if you’re able to send a few photos of each person so I can pick the best. I’ll photoshop an image together so you can see how the final portrait will roughly look.

  • You can either email me directly letting me know what you want, along with your photos, or fill out the contact form. If you fill out the contact form, I’ll ask for the photos after you’ve emailed letting me know what is it you want to commission. Please make sure your photos are high quality (particularly for pencil drawings).

  • Yes! I’m based in the U.K. but I’m happy to ship anywhere in the world - please see the shipping prices on the Pricing page. Please bear in mind I am not responsible for any customs charges.

  • All commissions are packaged securely in sturdy cardboard boxes (embroideries) or envelopes (pencil and watercolours). I also use recycled protective padding inside each embroidery box.

Each commission is send tracked and signed for (where possible) via Royal Mail.

  • There is a hole in the hoop backing that is created for hanging on a wall, or you can simply tie a piece of string underneath the screw at the top of the hoop. Alternatively (and personally my favourite way to display them) you can just prop them on a shelf!

Please make sure you keep the embroidery out of reach of pets and children, and handle very carefully. The threads can easily get snagged, which could create pulls throughout the work.

  • If you’ve seen me post something on Instagram that isn’t on my website, please just email me and I’ll see if it’s possible! For example, if you’d like an ink sketch, which is not on my pricing page, send me an email letting me know what you’d like drawn and I’ll let you know if I can do it for you.
